Mo Harawe
(b. Mogadishu) began as a visual artist before turning to filmmaking. Based in Austria since 2009, he has made several acclaimed short films, including Will My Parents Come to See Me (2022), which premiered at the Berlinale and won multiple international awards. His debut feature The Village Next to Paradise premiered in Cannes’ Un Certain Regard in 2024 and went on to win the Grand Diagonale Prize as well as „Best Austrian Film“ at Viennale.
Anna Gyimesi
(b. 1985, Budapest) studied medicine before turning to filmmaking. She graduated in film directing from the University of Theater and Film Arts Budapest (2019) and Docnomads (2021). Her films explore taboo social dilemmas through personal dramas, focusing on motherhood, womanhood, and marginalization. Her short Affricate premiered at Sarajevo Film Festival 2022, while Falling won the Heart of Sarajevo Award (2023). Since 2023, she has pursued doctoral research on fiction and documentary boundaries. She is currently developing her debut feature, Soft Hours.
Alexandra Leibmann
was born in Siberia and grew up in Aschaffenburg. From 2015 to 2023, she primarily focussed on documentary film during her studies at the Kunsthochschule Kassel. With her first short documentary film JUNGS VON DER KANTE she won the Rundgangpreis of the Universitätsgesellschaft Kassel and the New Talent Award at the Arquiteturas Film Festival in Lisbon. After spending a year abroad in Athens, she completed her studies in 2023 with the documentary METZGERGRÜN, which screened at several film festivals in German-speaking countries. She currently lives and works as a freelance filmmaker in Berlin.
